KILL COFFINS, GO GREEN.
22 x 22.5", Fall 2019
As it goes for almost all of my projects, I wanted to educate the public about an environmental concern; in this case, the harms traditional burials do to our environment, and what we can do as an alternative. Making an infographic was the best approach to do so. Wanting it to interact with the earth and not just be intended to hang on a wall, I cut out a shape of a coffin to symbolize the removal of this practice so plants can grow through and take its place.
With the rising concerns of climate change, I hope for viewers to reconsider their lifestyles, as well as their "death-styles", and make their last impact on this planet a sustainable and nourishing one.
